Over the last 20 years, Rob has worked as a non-executive chairman, advisor and mentor for over 50 companies that range from start-up through to publicly quoted. Over this time, he has been directly involved in fundraising over £150m, exits worth over £500m and has personally invested over £1.5m in start-ups.
He has real-world experience in strategy, change, turnarounds, marketing, sales, and ‘people’, as well as domain expertise in e-commerce, logistics, cloud services, software-as-a-service, insurance, and consumer electronics.
Rob has an MBA and is a Chartered Director, Engineer, and Marketer, a fellow of the RSA and BCS, a visiting Senior Fellow at both two London Business Schools, and is a Warden of WCIT, the IT Livery Company.
Twice awarded ‘Mentor of the Year’ as the Enterprise Awards, he was described by the judges as “The mentor every entrepreneur wished they had”. His prior experience includes being CEO of two publicly quoted software companies; Marketing Director for EDS; and Director General of the UK trade body for the IT industry. He has worked overseas in Kenya, Japan, Hong Kong and the US.
