Scaling up a tech business is simply employing the right people to execute a growth strategy approved by all relevant stakeholders, correct?

So what can possibly go wrong I hear you say!

Americans claim they had a vision and they just implemented it. Brits would rather talk about their war stories than their successes.

Somewhere between these generalizations lies the truth.

This in – person interactive 20 person max  session aims to give at least one valuable insight to take away to help them on their journey to become a tech success story.

It will be most relevant to entrepreneurs/ directors of businesses which  are already in a growth phase , with revenues of at least £1m p.a. – probably not startups.

John O’Connell is a high profile London based technology entrepreneur and investor. He co-founded, floated on the UK LSE and sold for $200 million approx. one of the then leading Software companies in the UK, Staffware plc, which had achieved Unicorn status, before that term had been adopted.

Since then, he has personally invested in and chaired 16 technology businesses, AIM Listed , VC/PE backed and startups. Other exits include last year CloudTrade & AIM listed ActiveOps plus previously Portrait Software , Imperial College spin -out InforSense & Opta Sports Data .

John now chairs 2 UK based technology companies, Active Navigation & the Scale Up Group, which he founded.

ScaleUp Group’s (SUG) 33 entrepreneurs have helped raise finance for more than 100 companies globally, exiting from 80+ for more than £4 billion. SUG is focused on creating Global Champions in the technology sector.
